THE BLACK MADONNA OF BRAZIL

Inspired on the African Brazilian  values and spiritual traditions  I created this doll  to resemble a Black Madonna,

well-known as the Virgin of the Aparecida from Brazil.  During  October 12,  many faithful followers gather on

her temple in homage.  They bring votes and flowers showing their love and respect!

Unfortunately, religious intolerance has become rampant in Brazil. The Virgin of Aparecida do Norte’ sainthood is on

on stake. I grew up learning to respect all religions and cultures. Being faithful to my principles helped me to  overcome

losses and bad times.
